Peter O’Connor, Reflexologist has recently joined the Younique Wellbeing Studios team. Peter qualified as a Reflexologist in August 2019 having trained with the International Institute of Reflexology where he learnt “The Ingham method”. Previously he had worked in Human Resources in the Public and Private sectors. He made the choice to change career due to health reasons, but also having the realisation that workloads and pressure at work were increasing. Stress can have a detrimental effect on our health and wellbeing. For Peter, he felt he wanted to do something about it; to help himself but also to help others. Peter has always been interested in complementary therapies and has now found reflexology.
‘Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers on these reflex areas.
Reflexology includes, but is not limited to:
- Relieve stress and tension
- Improve blood supply and promote unblocking of nerve impulses
- Help nature achieve homeostasis’
(International Institute of Reflexology, 2001)
If you have been experiencing stress and tension during this period of lockdown, why not try hand reflexology. Click here to watch a video demonstration recorded by the Association of Reflexologists of a simple hand reflexology routine which can help relieve tension within the body.
As a member of the Association of Reflexologists Peter will be adhering to their Covid-19 Secure Workplace Policy on returning to work.
