What is Chair-Seated Yoga?

It is a series of gentle movements, stretches and exercises that allow someone who is less mobile the opportunity to increase their heart rate and exercise limbs without bearing their own weight.  These gentle exercises can be adapted to be done seated or standing and small equipment is used.

Chair-Seated Yoga is Suitable for?

Those who find it difficult to get down onto the floor for mat based work. This might include older adults with mobility problems or those with disabilities.

Benefits

Because you are not ‘on your feet’ this can be an effective form of exercise for those with foot, ankle, knee or hip problems.
