What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?

EFT is a gentle but effective method of directly balancing the body’s energy system for the feelings/emotions you want to change. It is about returning the mind, body and feelings to a state of balance and harmony, so you are not limited by negative emotions. EFT or “tapping” is a quick and effective way of dealing with a wide range of issues. It has sometimes been described as psychological acupuncture without the needles! Clients learn how simple tapping on key acupressure points on their temple and hand, while expressing honest feelings, can transform their lives. Clients are given helpful messages to quieten the mind and techniques to tap on themselves when they are feeling stressed or need a boost of confidence. EFT can assist with pain relief, addictions, sleeping disorders, emotional eating, low self-esteem, relationships, phobias, childhood trauma, loss and separation, anxiety, depression, bullying, post traumatic stress, obsessive compulsive disorder, preventing anger from escalating and any number of life’s challenges. EFT is a key element of Energy Medicine, Energy Psychology and Integrative Healthcare. In his groundbreaking book, “The Genie in Your Genes” Dawson Church reminds us that hand-washing procedures transformed medical interventions in the 19th Century. “Energy tapping is to the 21st Century what hand-washing was to the 19th Century.”

Common ailments such as fears and phobias, traumatic memories, physical pain, grief, guilt and insomnia, anxiety/stress and much more. Negative emotions undermine our health and can often be the cause of physical pain. It is said that unresolved emotional issues are the main cause of 85% of all illnesses. We can be affected by recurring emotions from past events such as relationships, trauma or loss.


EFT “tunes in” to the issue and then, tapping with your fingers on specific acupressure points on the head and upper body at the same time saying some specific words, all help to disperse the emotion from the system.
