What is Pregnancy Massage?

Pregnancy massage is a wonderful way to alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy and helps you relax and take time out for yourself. Techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue and stretching will leave you feeling not only pampered but help alleviate any pain you are experiencing. All oils applied are grape seed or almond oil based. The best position for a pregnant woman during massage is side-lying. Tables that provide a hole in which the uterus can fit may not be reliable and can still apply pressure to the abdomen, or allow the abdomen to dangle, causing uncomfortable stretching of the uterine ligaments. All pregnancy massages at YouNique are performed in the side-line position on a luscious memory foam couch.

Pregnancy Massage is Suitable for?

A massage can help relieve lower back pain, cramps, stiff neck and shoulders, headaches, swelling and water retention, hip and thigh pain.

This massage is suitable from 12 weeks onwards.   Before considering a pregnancy massage please check with your GP or midwife if you have a high risk pregnancy.
